3-5-2 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled used their extra-terrestrial (16) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Javier Hurtado looked great 3 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' Douglas Carapaica. Making his way up the middle 7 minutes into the match, Ángel Luciano almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Manuel Vadalà blocked it to keep the score level. Bucaneros's Christian López got himself booked for a foul. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Emmanuel Mai from Bucaneros a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 16 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 23 minutes, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 1, as Heng Dong Chu finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. Cameron Law came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Javier Hurtado but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Teo Chuan Yong gave Moey Xin Seng a quick hug as he left the field. Moey Xin Seng was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Kalki Parvathaneni came on for Heng Dong Chu. After 62 minutes, the Bucaneros coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Pedro Ñancul Mugnaini off the field. Juan Carlos Antonetti took his place. Grilled increased the lead to 0 - 2 as Gilbert Webb scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. The head of Kalki Parvathaneni connected with a corner kick after 79 minutes, and the ball ended up with Atang Mangoye of Grilled who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 0 - 3. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. After 81 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Radovan Jaška who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 4. Following a collision in the 82, Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni complained of a damaged shoulder. Eventually, he forced himself to continue the match anyway. A penalty was awarded after 83 minutes, and Gilbert Webb made the most of his chance to put Grilled up by another goal. 0 - 5 for the visitors. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper Manuel Vadalà and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Bucaneros, but Héctor Arroyo's finish was way too lame. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 87 minutes, Grilled did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, José Luiz Velho was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 6. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 0 - 6. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Most important Bucaneros player was Ljubisa Brunner. Jurica Turina on the other hand, had a terrible day. Moey Xin Seng performed admirably for Grilled. Atang Mangoye was a disappointment, however.
