Yip Finds Brotherhood
Grilled Birds youth forward Yip Chu Wee signed with Finnish sixth division newcomers BloodBrotherZ on a free transfer today upon professional eligibility, with Aleksi Mäyrä also recruiting Serbian lad Mateja Kurčubić and the German Sascha Ridder - who coincidentally shares the same birthday as Yip.
The just-turned seventeen Yip had caught the attention of Chicken Wings scout Mok Feng De with his excellent speed as a schools player, and his pace has only increased during his stint with the academy. His development in other respects has been slightly disappointing, but Mok was of the opinion that he had time to make up for it. "Chu Wee's still young, but he should really apply himself more - he won't be young forever."
It was curtains for a couple other hopefuls, sadly, with Farmer Bunnies' Senthil Venna and Lin Shun Aik throwing in the towel, after a fruitless month of searching for footballing employment. Both also prospective strikers, they unfortunately didn't have the little extra that it took, or so Venna admitted.
"It's back to school, I guess." he said. "My parents were kind of relieved, so yeah."
