Very Vadalà
Grilled head coach
Hovaness Noubaryan announced a signing of opportunity after their remarkable Singapore Cup triumph over Bot Team FC, as 29 year-old Italian goalkeeper
Manuel Vadalà joined from Switzerland's FC Sauli 2018. The S$1.9 million deal would be amicably agreed upon by all parties, and was slightly less than what Sauli had paid Pinztata for their local lad about a season and a half ago.
Many fans had been expecting the Birds to be in the market for a backup custodian, to be honest, what with existing second-choice man
Eren Serpin the wrong side of 37 years, and both the old guard of
Krystian Rykowski and
Dan Seng effectively part-time coaches. "They should be officially retiring at the end of this season." Noubaryan revealed. "But with a hectic schedule, it was best to get prepared, just in case."
One particular quality that Noubaryan was looking for, was the willingness to warm the bench until being called upon, and this as it happened was right up Vadalà's alley. "Even national custodians fill this role." the newcomer said. "I saw that Grilled are a very good club that are going for honours, so why not?"
