Munich 1 - 4 Grilled

iv id="matchReport"> Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 5237 to Munich Giants Arena. Manuel Ibatici was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marc Fraisse and Francesco Fabbrini. The following players had been chosen: Tešić - Patzold, Schrötter - Zethofer, Klasing, Übach, Tränke, Mönckeberg - Malich, Karajan, Wellen.

They fielded: Rykowski - Trung Quá, 入江 (Irie) - Velho, Parvathaneni, Muthyala, Mohammad Harun, Tarin - Xin Lee, Davlatov, Xin Seng.

Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial level with that tactic. 3 minutes into the game, Kalki Parvathaneni" class="awayplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. A wonderful trick by Pascal Zethofer that left Bilal Mohammad Harun" class="awayplayer">Bilal Mohammad Harun bewildered really deserved to end in a goal but the keeper made a fine save. The guests almost went up by a goal after 22 minutes when José Luiz Velho came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. Grilled's Chu Xin Lee" class="awayplayer">Chu Xin Lee could have put the guests one up after 25 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but Luka Tešić was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. Moey Xin Seng" class="awayplayer">Moey Xin Seng of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. After 36 minutes, Grilled's Jérémy Tarin made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. 37 minutes in, Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni" class="awayplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Chu Xin Lee" class="awayplayer">Chu Xin Lee came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Luka Tešić but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

Hoàng Trung Quá wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid" class="awayplayer">Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie) wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Remco van der Ban after 46 minutes. Neeraj Muthyala of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 66 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. With 71 minutes played, Bilal Mohammad Harun" class="awayplayer">Bilal Mohammad Harun nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Still trailing on the score board, Munich adjusted their tactics after 72 minutes. Hauke-Klaus Patzold had a quick chat at the side line, then switched positions with Pascal Zethofer. After 73 minutes, Grilled's Islom Davlatov burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let Chirag Thevar" class="awayplayer">Chirag Thevar replace Bilal Mohammad Harun" class="awayplayer">Bilal Mohammad Harun after 73 minutes. Munich's Pascal Zethofer cut towards the middle after 74 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 3. The referee signalled a penalty 77 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. Jérémy Tarin knocked it home to make the score 1 - 4. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 1 - 4. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

Most important Munich player was Pascal Zethofer. On the other hand, Luka Tešić's play was disheartening. Islom Davlatov performed admirably for Grilled. Remco van der Ban on the other hand, had a terrible day.
