Grilled 2 - 3 Payoh

iv id="matchReport"> Dark skies made the crowd of 63743 at The Cooking Pot a little nervous, but the rain held off. Massimiliano Marco Scavazzini was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Liu Zu-Wei and Robert Lawler. The following players had been chosen: Dob - Muthyala, Webb - Künzler, Davlatov, Mohammad Harun, Xin Seng, Romijn - Mudaliar, Xin Lee, Parvathaneni.

They fielded: Lastdrager - Pukl, Morgado, Fernández Löbbe, Abbeloos - Usik, bin Hj Erywan, Riihiniemi, McCandless - Lim, Tong Leong.

Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Mia San Toa Payoh, chose to start the game with a 4-4-2 lineup. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. Payoh clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. Azrinuddin bin Hj Erywan was stuck like glue to Islom Davlatov, diminishing the Grilled player's contribution in the match! Making his way up the middle 16 minutes into the match, Kalki Parvathaneni" class="homeplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Gunnar Lastdrager blocked it to keep the score level. Vikram Mudaliar" class="homeplayer">Vikram Mudaliar caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 25 minutes. This gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. A great save by keeper Gunnar Lastdrager after 28 minutes kept the visitors in the game after Vikram Mudaliar" class="homeplayer">Vikram Mudaliar struck from the left with a real cannonball. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Florus Romijn from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 29 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Moey Xin Seng" class="homeplayer">Moey Xin Seng had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 34 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Moey Xin Seng" class="homeplayer">Moey Xin Seng could have increased the lead after 51 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Payoh were given a free kick 52 minutes into the game, just after a swift counter attack broke down. Rather than shooting straight at goal, it was directed at the area just in front of the keeper. The attackers made several runs and made it hard for the defenders to protect their goal. After a short tussle with a defender, Jerry Lim could finally lay the ball to rest behind the keeper. 1 - 1, and prove it can pay off to come prepared. They were singing the praises of Vikram Mudaliar" class="homeplayer">Vikram Mudaliar 54 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Grilled. 59 minutes into the match, Oleg Usik bent a free kick around the home team's defensive formation, leaving the keeper with no chance for a save. Payoh had levelled the scoreline at 2 - 2. Dick McCandless finished off the counterattack of Payoh from the left rather easily, making the score 2 - 3. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's Neeraj Muthyala was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 70 minutes. 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) was given a chance to change things around. Grilled put pressure on the visitors' central defence 74 minutes into the game, but Vikram Mudaliar" class="homeplayer">Vikram Mudaliar couldn't find an opening. Grilled needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 85 minutes Gilbert Webb" class="homeplayer">Gilbert Webb made way for 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie). The match ends 2 - 3. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.

Grilled's best player was Chu Xin Lee" class="homeplayer">Chu Xin Lee. On the other hand, Islom Davlatov's play was disheartening. Tan Tong Leong performed admirably for Payoh. Azrinuddin bin Hj Erywan on the other hand, had a terrible day.
