The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Singapore Big Dogs has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. 7 minutes in, Singapore's Janusz Niewczas received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A slight injury to his left calf muscle meant 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) had to leave the match early. It happened after 7 minutes. This gave Rashid bin Ahmad a chance to take to the field instead. Mahesh Murthy of Singapore was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 18 minutes played Moey Xin Seng" class="homeplayer">Moey Xin Seng almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. 20 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Grilled was Islom Davlatov. With 24 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Chan Ze Han" class="homeplayer">Chan Ze Han, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. The away team improved the scoreline to 2 - 1, as Vinod Modi struck home, set up well by a play on the left 25 minutes into the match. Grilled solidified their lead at the 27 minute mark, as Chu Xin Lee" class="homeplayer">Chu Xin Lee dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

With 48 minutes played, 雄輝 (Yuki) 入江 (Irie) could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The visitors' right side was dangerous today; Pierre Langelund made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily scored to reduce the lead to 3 - 2 71 minutes into the match. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 72 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but Teng Jian Wai got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 3 - 2. Grilled's top performer was clearly Chu Xin Lee" class="homeplayer">Chu Xin Lee. Rashid bin Ahmad turned in a dismal performance, however. Tay Ting Lee performed admirably for Singapore. On the other hand, Chia Feng Wen's play was disheartening.
