Teo Taken Up
Perseverance paid off for yet another Chicken Wings graduate today, as playmaker Teo Yi Jia secured a contract with Spanish Division Eight club Verxeles street on a free transfer. He thus becomes one of Sebastien Bremer's first signings, together with Portuguese trainee Frederico Holanda, formerly of Atlético Clube Porto Salvo.
It was the end of a long, winding road for the 18 year-old, who had waited two months before getting this break. "I was this far from returning to playing for fun." he admitted.
Tham Beng Li remembered Teo as a competent midfielder, who like Anthony Hung before him had a penchant for staying on the ball and practising free-kicks. "They were as two peas in a pod, come to think of it. Best of luck to them both."
