Bahrains 4 - 2 Grilled

iv id="matchReport"> 5440 punters turned up at Bahrain's Mustang Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Edgar Pirich was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Stelian Livadaru and Olof Gulltorp. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Bahrains. They fielded: Lamprecht - Al-Temaimai, Khajenasiri, Al Joder - Jalili, Maesani, Sayadi, Wetzl, Bin Hendi - Al-kuwari, Al Sharef.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Batr - Trung Qu, bin Ahmad, Abdul Majid - Saliman, Xin Lee, Xin Seng, Parvathaneni, Won - Dvorak, Isufi.

Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial level with that tactic. M. Saliman of Grilled displayed some of his fantastic technical abilities when he brought the ball down neatly using his instep before nutmegging the bewildered U. Maesani and smashing an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper to make it 0 - 1. After 41 minutes, Grilled's R. Isufi burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. N. Al Sharef did everything he could to get one back for his Bahrains, but keeper V. Batr denied him with a spectacular block. 44 minutes into the match, Bahrains's G. Al-Temaimai collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 1 - 2. The Bahrains free kick 44 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of N. Al Sharef, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 2! Halftime score was 2 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Bahrains, with 51 percent of the ball.

Bahrains had a good opportunity to take the lead as A. Al-kuwari came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of V. Batr. After 51 minutes of play, G. Al-Temaimai gave the home team a 3 - 2 lead after an attack coming in from the right. After 64 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and N. Al Sharef gave the Bahrains supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 2. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's R. Isufi was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes. L. Wan Kang was given a chance to change things around. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. The crowd roared its approval when M. Lamprecht somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Grilled's C. Won 77 minutes into the game, following a good move through the middle. The bench was restless, and with 85 minutes passed Grilled's coach gave C. Tse Chu the opportunity the player had been hoping for. M. Abdul Majid reluctantly left the field. The match ends 4 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Bahrains, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

The most dominating Bahrains player was without a doubt J. Wetzl. M. Bin Hendi was a disappointment, however. G. Dvorak performed admirably for Grilled. C. Tse Chu on the other hand, had a terrible day.
