Micić's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from L. Aik Jia's shot from the left 33 minutes into the match. After 34 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Patel on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by S. Durmaz to make it 2 - 0. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 36 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but W. Tian Han got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's C. Meyer was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 80 minutes. W. Ping Shun was given a chance to change things around. The Patel players could smell victory in the air. R. Rønne wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for N. Peltier after 80 minutes. After 83 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by M. Dela might have resulted in another goal for Patel. However, W. Tian Han made a spectacular save. The bench was restless, and with 85 minutes passed Grilled's coach gave L. Wan Kang the opportunity the player had been hoping for. R. Isufi reluctantly left the field. Under heavy pressure after 85 minutes, the inexperienced Patel struggled to maintain their level of play. Patel's F.
