Grilled 3 - 3 Berries

iv id="matchReport"> The crowd of 3340 turning up at The Cooking Pot today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. David Mårtensson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Axel Streng and Vitalijus Presas. Grilled decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Rykowski - Awyong, bin Ahmad, van der Ban - Isufi, Xin Seng, Prabhu, Muthyala, 入江 (Irie) - Wan Kang, Bellamoli.

Berries tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: Trives - Stephens, Watson - Colyn, Anderson, Mendes, Pamphile, Ericsson - Geipel, Wegener, Pietruszyński.

Berries's H. Mendes gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 5 minutes with a superb strike from the right. P. Bellamoli was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. Grilled tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. The home crowd was not impressed when H. Mendes came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 12 minutes. Berries were now up 0 - 2. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Berries lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when L. Wan Kang scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 1 - 2. Berries's L. Anderson had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 28 minutes having been played. K. Henry was the replacement. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 56 percent of the ball.

With 60 minutes played, the Grilled coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Z. Jing Wei came on, R. bin Ahmad had to leave the fray. With 72 minutes played, after a good run down the left, H. Prabhu went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 74 minutes into the match, an alert P. Bellamoli bagged the ball for Grilled, levelling the score to 2 - 2. After 78 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Berries found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. 洸. 奥谷 (Okuya) came on for P. Bellamoli. With 82 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. R. Wegener put the ball away for 2 - 3. Grilled's M. Xin Seng almost tied things up with 84 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 86 minutes played, L. Wan Kang of Grilled made the score 3 - 3. 88 minutes in, Berries appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only poor. Grilled had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

H. Prabhu performed admirably for Grilled. However, R. van der Ban made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Berries player was without a doubt G. Colyn. On the other hand, D. Stephens's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 3.
