Singapore 4 - 2 Grilled

iv id="matchReport"> Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 47129 to Camp Nou Singapore. Ozan Susus was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ismael Tomás Marín and Lambrecht Nihoul. Singapore decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Crean - Argappio, Diletti, Weidl - Kok Aik, Alluri, Kim Feng, Niamuddin, Smirnov - Kaukonen, Ove.

Grilled started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Tian Han - Jing Wei, Filippone - Ping Shun, Won, Meyer, Leong Kum, Lee Hao - bin Mohd Kassim, Isufi, 勇航 (Yonghang).

Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After a fine move down the middle V. Alluri nearly gave the home side a goal after 10 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 11 minutes allowed L. Lee Hao to score for Grilled. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper, 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for Grilled 26 minutes into the match made the score 0 - 2. 27 minutes into the game Singapore broke through on the left wing and V. Alluri managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 2. After 28 minutes of game time, 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but E. Crean was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. The crowd roared in delight as L. Kok Aik finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Singapore 31 minutes into the match. 2 - 2. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. bin Mohd Kassim from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 36 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Singapore took the lead after 37 minutes as a result of L. Kok Aik's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 3 - 2. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 2. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

Grilled's L. Lee Hao left the field after 59 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was L. Aik Jia. After 67 minutes, T. Kaukonen put Singapore ahead 4 - 2 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Confident in their lead, Singapore's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Grilled's C. Meyer was shown a yellow card after 73 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The player down was V. Alluri. The Singapore bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. W. Ping Shun had a lethal looking free kick that grazed the post after 75 minutes. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

T. Kaukonen performed admirably for Singapore. On the other hand, L. Kok Aik's play was disheartening. Grilled's top performer was clearly 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) . Z. Jing Wei on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 2.
