Grilled 4 - 3 Kateeder
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 5399 to
The Cooking Pot.
Anders Johansson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rickard Håkansson and
Benno Brillhart. Grilled had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players took the field: Noubaryan - Bakhtiar, Dorogan, Bacelar, Awyong - 福泉 (Fuquan) , 勇航 (Yonghang) , bin Mohd Kassim, Aik Jia, Ying Lee - Wan Kang.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Kateeder. Lineup: Vana - Veiler, Kepp, Eelrand, Ilvola - Koidula, Lemming, Sõber, Lianas - Cao Cường, Lachenschmid.
Grilled were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Grilled took the lead 2 minutes in, as
M. bin Mohd Kassim broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. After 33 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Grilled found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
solid. Kateeder tied it all up, 34 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by
R. Lachenschmid, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
C. Ying Lee scored for Grilled putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 38 minutes. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Grilled to 3 - 1 as
L. Aik Jia finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After this, you could see that the players of Grilled were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. The referee showed Grilled's
L. Aik Jia the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
C. Ying Lee squirmed through their central defence after 42 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 1. 43 minutes into the game, Grilled had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
passable. Halftime score was 4 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Kateeder, with 53 percent of the ball.
A review of the gameplan helped Grilled get back to a
solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. With 48 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Kateeder showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 4 - 2 when
G. Veiler got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. With clinical precision, the cross from winger
V. Koidula found its way to
R. Lachenschmid's head, and a screaming header gave Kateeder the goal after 62 minutes played. 4 - 3 64 minutes into the match,
D. Bacelar could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. With 65 minutes played,
N. Cao Cường came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by Kateeder. Grilled's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 66 minutes gone, but
D. Bacelar's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Grilled's
C. Ying Lee got himself booked for a foul. Kateeder were forced into a substitution as
V. Koidula couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
R. Steffensen to come in off the bench. 69 minutes in, Grilled appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
C. Awyong left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 85 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
W. Ross was the replacement. Kateeder had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
Most important Grilled player was
M. bin Mohd Kassim. However,
H. Noubaryan made a disastrous appearance. Kateeder's best player was
H. Lemming.
G. Veiler on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 3.
