Grilled 0 - 5 Flames
Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players took the field: Tian Han - Awyong, Bakhtiar - Ping Shun, Kong, bin Jantan, Fu, Aik Jia - Bellamoli, Ying Lee, Wan Kang.
A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Flames. Lineup: Alarc - Boyneburg, Zolich, Dale, Sina, Quesada - Krkkinen, Soler, Sabbe, Dotan - Loria.
Flames were relying on their ability to counter-attack. A lunatic dribble by
H. Bakhtiar, in front of his own keeper, set up Flames's
G. Loria for an embarrassingly easy strike after 8 minutes. 0 - 1! A drive down the left side allowed
M. Quesada to get in close and score another goal for Flames after 9 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. Grilled's
H. Bakhtiar was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 10 minutes.
S. Soler was, after 19 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
W. Tian Han made the save.
D. Kong of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. After 35 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
G. Loria to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 3. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Flames, with 59 percent of the ball.
A. Krkkinen of Flames took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 57 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 4. Unsportsmanlike behaviour by
D. Kong rendered him his second booking of the match, and Grilled had to finish the game with a reduced squad. The visitors'
G. Loria took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 67 minutes into the match. 0 - 5 for Flames. At that,
G. Loria was noted down for a hat trick! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
L. Aik Jia from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Possession in this half belonged to Flames, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.
C. Ying Lee performed admirably for Grilled.
C. Awyong was a disappointment, however. Flames's best player was
A. Dotan.
P. Sina on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 5.
