Versatile 18 year-old academy graduate Chan Kuan Wen's free transfer to Israeli Division Six club eliiiieliiiieliiiii was confirmed this evening, superseding a tentative offer from Romanian Division Eight side Fc JuveBN, brokered by head coach Niculae Stanca
's contacts. Stanca, who rarely comments on the youth setup, said that Chan's footballing intelligence had caught his eye.
"He wasn't a star in the U-20 side or anything like that, but if there are players who deserve a go at the pro level, he would be within the top few from our current youth squad." Stanca praised. "He does it all from midfield - defend, attack, harass - with equal potency. You don't see many of these box-to-box types any longer."
Chan was just relieved to put pen to paper, with his few earlier attempts to find a new club ending in disappointment. "The coach said I could stay a while if I wanted, but it was pointless if I could not become at least a rotation player. I hope to do my best for eliiiie."
