Lights Go Dark

In an unexpected development, II.2 will not see Shining Lights for next season, as the Sentosa-based club ended its four-season stay in Division Two after a 0-5 qualifier loss to JUtd. Shining Lights had taken the league by storm after their arrival, becoming runners-up in their first season and winners in their second, but were never the same after a narrow S-League promotion game defeat to Young Tigers, and thereafter dropped to the bottom half of the table.

CharlesCheesePie did not get the win either, counter-attacking to no avail against a committed Blackburn Rovers Fan side, who turned on the style to make it 4-1 without too much trouble. Meanwhile, Phantasm Hotspurs just could not stop scoring, following up a 10-1 with an 11-0 as they murdered an understrength The Unbelieveable side to stay in II.2.

Niculae Stanca expressed his astonishment at Lights' exit. "I didn't expect that, that's for sure, even if JUtd are a decent team. It almost looked as if both of them didn't want to win in that game, but JUtd went for it after they got a couple of goals. Look out for the striking duo of Gerardo Senesi and Juan Esparza in the coming derbies!"
