Grilled 0 - 1 Lauberge
ather conditions were fairly good for football, and The Cooking Pot saw a crowd turnout of 3689.
Edilio Gilardoni was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Cedric Braunbart and
Alfredo Perfetti. A 5-2-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players had been chosen: Silvera - Ross, Crkvenjakov, Da Teck, Madaini, Tzonkov - Stanca, Adabala - 修宇 (Xiuyu), bin Mohamad, Azhari.
Lauberge started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. They fielded: Kuffer - Kiesch, Faucher, Lerch, Cathelineau - Poletti, Gosset, Mathes, Tishbi, Mtangi - Bache.
Slack defending gave Grilled a chance to take the lead with 10 minutes played, but
范 (Fan) 修宇 (Xiuyu)'s cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. 0 - 0 was the score after the first half. This half belonged to Lauberge, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.
As the 46 minute approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Wardi Azhari reluctantly made way for
Li Boon Boon on the pitch. The referee showed Grilled's
Walter Ross the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Mickaël Lerch would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Emil Ivanov entered the game for Lauberge as the match clock showed 66 minutes. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Lauberge's
Stéphane Gosset a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 69 minutes into the game. 70 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Krishnan Adabala gave
Mayur Gudivada a quick hug as he left the field. After 70 minutes, the Lauberge coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Mulles Bache off the field.
Chris Nauta took his place. With 73 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
Mayur Gudivada needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
Chris Nauta had a good try after 78 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Teo Yong Yau came on for
Niculae Stanca. The Grilled captaincy was handed to
Vukota Crkvenjakov. Unsportsmanlike behaviour by
Walter Ross rendered him his second booking of the match, and Grilled had to finish the game with a reduced squad. Lauberge enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.
As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. Lauberge's
Stéphane Gosset had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 92 minutes having been played.
Adis Lapsītis was the replacement. Lauberge's
Omer Tishbi could have put the guests one up after 96 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
Alvaro Silvera was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. After 102 minutes, Lauberge put themselves up by 0 - 1, as
Shadrack Mtangi finished off a strike from the left with a real cannon placed at the far post. With that Lauberge had won the game in extra time.
Most important Grilled player was
范 (Fan) 修宇 (Xiuyu).
Alvaro Silvera was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Lauberge player was without a doubt
Chris Nauta. However,
Christopher Faucher made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 1.
