Dom Done
In a sensational development, Grilled's German frontman
Domenik Bögengang was sold to Lithuanian Division Three club fk seskai for S$9 million, just days after he expressed his dissatisfaction with the coach. Although the move was not a complete surprise, with Bögengang a regular on the transfer list, the timing still came out of the blue to observers.
Han disagreed. "With our Cup commitments over, this was the best time for us to part ways. Domenik was one of our highest earners, so this will help relieve our wage pressure with that source of income gone. Despite our differences at the end, Domenik has always put in his best for the team, and we wish him well at his new club."
The 26 year-old two-time Player of the Season made 66 appearances for Grilled, finishing with 51 competitive goals, a ratio exceeded by only a handful of forwards in the Birds' history. fc seskai have not wasted any time, fielding him alongside Thai veteran Huang Jun Kian against FC Oddity Uprising mere hours after his medical. Although Bögengang did not score, he was a standout for seskai.
While
Safri bin Mohamad was sad to see a mentor he had looked up to leave, the twenty year-old former Red Chaos man admitted that he was already looking forward to playing a bigger role in the first team. "There are some mixed feelings going on here, to be straight."
