Wild 0 - 4 Grilled
ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 12000 at Hungry Heart today.
Martin Mathiasson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Turk Mansoor Sultan and
Gregor Kapušin. Wild had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: de Kat - Gaytonde, Dharakar, Xu, Chin Nie - Wan Jie, Chao Sze, Dairutis, Wee Min - Paz, Caballero.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. The following players took the field: Silvera - Stanca, Olsson, Ross, Chuan Heng - Mourão, Pujolràs, Josefsson - 修宇 (Xiuyu), bin Mohamad, 勇航 (Yonghang).
Wild were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The coach of Wild wanted to try to change things around after 1 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions. Intentions were certainly good, but the Grilled indirect free kick combination after 18 minutes was easily anticipated by the defenders. That was a textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options. The left side created an opportunity for the visitors 25 minutes into the match, and
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. In a rapid move 31 minutes into the match,
Safri bin Mohamad of Grilled lost his man, passed the ball to the unmarked
范 (Fan) 修宇 (Xiuyu) who easily hit it home for the 0-2 goal. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Grilled lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 32 minutes into the game a free kick by
Marc Pujolràs found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Grilled's lead 0 - 3. After 41 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Walter Ross to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4.
Björn Olsson of Grilled received a yellow card after 42 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was 0 - 4 at the break. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 64 percent possession of the ball.
As
Marc Pujolràs was substituted 46 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead.
Chan Woon Jin was the replacement. Grilled's
Safri bin Mohamad was shown a yellow card after 58 minutes for slicing down an opponent. There was concern in the stands when, at the 73 minute mark, Grilled's
Safri bin Mohamad hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. After 76 minutes of game time,
Edvaldo Mourão had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Sven de Kat was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. Wild enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
Wild's top performer was clearly
Boris Caballero.
Seah Chin Nie turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Safri bin Mohamad.
Chan Woon Jin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
