Grilled 5 - 1 Munich
ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 2432 at The Cooking Pot today.
Bjarne Gall was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Martijn L'Ami and
Ferenc Simkó. Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Silvera - Lik-Tsun, bin Yaacob - Penati, Kim, Back, Mourão, Han Kok - 修宇 (Xiuyu), 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.
Munich started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. The following players took the field: Sanders - Rissling, Rumian, Weingessl, Klitzing, Crosnier - Elmshorn, Langhout, Leppert, Sigwald - Mezzasalma.
Grilled decided to play creatively. For their match strategy, Munich had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. 21 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. Scorer for Grilled was
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) .
Dennis Rissling behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 22 minutes as he gave the ball away to
Quah Han Kok. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. With 27 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Ciro Penati, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. 36 minutes into the game, Grilled seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organization. Cheers filled the stadium as
Chow Ying Lee broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 3 - 0 goal for Grilled. Confident in their lead, Grilled's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Munich's
Ismail Leppert soared above the crowd, but couldn't knock the header home 41 minutes into the match. The visitors replied 43 minutes into the game, scoring the 3 - 1 goal, as
Otto Weingessl dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 66 percent of possession.
Grilled's coach took some time during the break to go over his strategy, which raised Grilled's organization to
solid. With 46 minutes played, the Munich coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
Alf Løkken came on,
Eugeniusz Rumian had to leave the fray. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes,
Anders Josefsson came on for
Kyou-Chull Kim. With 65 minutes played, Grilled's
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob tried to nail the coffin shut, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Munich was able to draw a foul with their counterattacks, but the shot from
Otto Weingessl went into the arms of the keeper. 66 minutes into the game, Grilled had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to
passable. Grilled's
Anders Josefsson saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 75 minutes. A counterattack by Munich after 76 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
Martin Elmshorn, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. After 87 minutes,
Han Lik-Tsun put Grilled ahead 4 - 1 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. A well-executed free kick by
Quah Han Kok after 89 minutes made it 5 - 1 for Grilled. With 89 minutes played,
Quah Han Kok could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chow Ying Lee. On the other hand,
Han Lik-Tsun's play was disheartening. Most important Munich player was
Max Langhout. However,
Ismail Leppert made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 1.
