Grilled 2 - 0 FC Maths
91 fans braved the pouring rain at The Cooking Pot.
Alex Saarup was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Arnaud Maury and
Sérgio Fortes. Grilled decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. The following players took the field: Silvera - Woon Jin, Chuan Heng, bin Yaacob - 达荣 (Darong) , Mourão, Han Kok, Josefsson - Torsson, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Cunha Simões.
FC Maths had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Starters: Godin - Soverini, Domb, Ayala - Linares, Caris, Deléglise, Brinkmann - Chávez, Scharmanski, 魏敏 (Weimin) .
Ângelo Cunha Simões didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, FC Maths's
Federico Linares got himself booked. With 39 minutes played
Quah Han Kok almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. The suddenness of the Grilled's
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob's pass to
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) after 40 mintues caught the opposition wrong-footed, and they could only watch as the ball sailed home for 1 - 0. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 70 percent possession of the ball.
As
Quah Han Kok was substituted 46 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead.
Ivaylo Mirchev was the replacement. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air.
Martin Torsson wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Safri bin Mohamad after 60 minutes.
Safri bin Mohamad of Grilled received a yellow card after 61 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Grilled's
Ângelo Cunha Simões swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Safri bin Mohamad after 72 minutes. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. FC Maths's
Amiram Domb got himself booked for a foul. FC Maths's
Henri Deléglise was shown a yellow card after 80 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 89 minutes, FC Maths switched
林 (Lin) 魏敏 (Weimin) with
Donaciano Manjárrez, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Ângelo Cunha Simões.
Chan Woon Jin was a disappointment, however. FC Maths's best player was
Zacharias Scharmanski.
Henri Deléglise on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 0.
