Gummibein 4 - 3 Grilled
e crowd of 2790 turning up at Gundadalur today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Franz-Bernd Grönland was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Benjamin Bachnik and
Giuseppe Semenza. Gummibein tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Estevão - Jensen, Pessegueiro, Checa Rubio - Glerfoss, Dahl Clementsen, Raimond, Imiński, Vørðhamar - Pećanac, Wolff.
Grilled started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Silvera - Woon Jin, Chuan Heng, bin Yaacob - 达荣 (Darong) , Mourão, Mirchev, Josefsson - bin Mohamad, 勇航 (Yonghang) , 力海 (Lihai) .
Gummibein showed off their creative tactics. 17 minutes in, Grilled's
Anders Josefsson received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Gummibein took the lead 23 minutes into the game by 1 to 0, as
Błażej Imiński elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Grilled were close to putting the equaliser away after 25 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to
Anders Josefsson in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. The visitors'
封 (Feng) 达荣 (Darong) was alert on a play coming in from the left, tying the score at 1 - 1 after 31 minutes. 34 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Gummibein to take the lead after a good centering pass from the right found
Naddoddur Dahl Clementsen alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Gummibein claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.
After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
鄭 (Zheng) 力海 (Lihai) off the field.
Ângelo Cunha Simões took his place.
Ângelo Cunha Simões had a grin on his face as he raced down the field, almost oblivious to the rain. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's
Edvaldo Mourão a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 50 minutes into the game. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 69 minutes allowed
Ângelo Cunha Simões to score the 1 - 2 goal for Grilled. 71 minutes in, and Gummibein was able to score the equalising 2 - 2 goal when
Terji Vørðhamar picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. They were singing the praises of
Sandro Wolff 77 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from just outside the centre part of the opponent's penalty area found its way over the visitors keeper to make the score 3 - 2 for Gummibein. With 79 minutes played,
Knut Jensen could have brought this one home for Gummibein as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. After 79 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 3 - 3 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) . This half belonged to Gummibein, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
As neither team was able to get the go-ahead goal before the end of regular play, the teams took to the field again for extra time.
封 (Feng) 达荣 (Darong) was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace.
Naddoddur Dahl Clementsen was very close to giving Gummibein the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 101 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. Gummibein took the lead after 105 minutes, as a result of
Sandro Wolff's awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. 4 - 3. What a dramatic win for Gummibein!
Gummibein's best player was
Kristijan Pećanac.
Knut Jensen on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Ângelo Cunha Simões.
Chan Woon Jin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 3.
