Grilled saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Grilled's
Quah Han Kok got himself booked for a foul. After 18 minutes, the visitors nearly went up a goal, but
Maikel Rotteveel's free kick hit the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game,
Zhu Yeow Chu had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
Abdul Hadi bin Mohd Nor. The Kampung captaincy was handed to
Abdul Hadi bin Mohd Nor.
Maikel Rotteveel gave the visitors the lead 30 minutes into the match to make it 0 - 1. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball in the penalty area. After 33 minutes Grilled's
Ciro Penati contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Kampung put pressure on the visitors' central defence 38 minutes into the game, but
Alejandro Navarro Ros couldn't find an opening. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Kampung enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Kampung's
Chow Kwang Min made an attempt at equalising 71 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound.
Sven Wilstra made a superb strike after 80 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. After 81 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Grilled on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by
Maikel Rotteveel to make it 0 - 2. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air.
Maikel Rotteveel wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Safri bin Mohamad after 82 minutes. By now, Grilled were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Kampung held the ball, with a clear 61 percent of possession.
Kampung's top performer was clearly
Mickaël Marchant. However,
Abdul Hadi bin Mohd Nor made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grilled player was
Valdir Dias Paes. On the other hand,
Björn Olsson's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 2.
