Grilled coach Han Lik-Tsun announced the surprise S$222 000 signing of 31 year-old Portuguese midfielder Edvaldo Mourão, who leaves Dutch Division Six side ZFC Footballfan after losing his first-team place due to a slump in form.

Grilled Birds will be the ninth club that Mourão serves with in a long career, which has seen him the subject of three S$3 million transfers. This will however be the first time he ventures outside Europe proper, a factor in his turning down sbiliguda (Italian Division Nine) and F.C Raznic (Romanian Division Seven).

Mourão was reportedly delighted with his change in environment, even though Han had warned him that he was unlikely to feature until he had gotten back up to speed in friendly games, and took pains to deny that the club had been looking at the French option of Cyrille Bruchon as first choice.
