Grilled 6 - 3 Mammutring
91 spectators arrived at The Cooking Pot, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Jussi Pyöräniemi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Maario Roolaid and
Ronnie Sjölind. Grilled had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. The following players took the field: Bao-Tam - Mirchev, Woon Jin, bin Yaacob, 顺国 (Shunguo) - Branbilla, Shun Jin, MacKinnon - Salieri, bin Mohd Kassim, 力海 (Lihai) .
Mammutring tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. They fielded: Giusto - Raidl, Binert - Mollwitz, López Negredo, Freisoythe, Jessen-Lenz, Şahin - El-Ashraf, Hurna, Hatten.
Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. After 7 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant.
John MacKinnon easily put the 1 - 0 goal away to give the lead to Grilled. Mammutring tied it all up, 8 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by
Joseph Mollwitz, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. What was
Chan Woon Jin thinking? That's what everyone wondered when, for no apparent reason, he shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving
Radosz Hurna an extra chance, but unfortunately for Mammutring, he didn't get the shot right. Mammutring took the lead 26 minutes into the game, scoring the 1 - 2 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
Markus-Dimitri Jessen-Lenz was the scorer. Grilled evened the score after 28 minutes when
John MacKinnon netted a free kick for 2 to 2. Grilled's
李 (Li) 顺国 (Shunguo) was shown a yellow card after 29 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Mammutring took the lead after 31 minutes with 2 - 3.
Horst Binert placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. With 35 minutes played, Grilled's
Chan Woon Jin fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Chan Woon Jin for diving. With 36 minutes played,
Ivaylo Mirchev went down in a suspected penalty situation after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee, having a good line of sight, signalled to keep playing. Due to some great work on the right wing Grilled's
Lim Shun Jin was able to even the score after 40 minutes to make the score 3 - 3. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 3. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.
The coach of Mammutring wanted to try to change things around after 46 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions.
鄭 (Zheng) 力海 (Lihai) gave Grilled the lead with 4 - 3, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. As
Michele Salieri was substituted 60 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead.
Martin Torsson was the replacement. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let
Ângelo Cunha Simões replace
鄭 (Zheng) 力海 (Lihai) after 60 minutes. After 60 minutes, Mammutring switched
Gunnar Freisoythe with
Roberto Jiménez, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Lim Shun Jin behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 60 minutes as he gave the ball away to
Alberto López Negredo. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Mammutring needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes
Markus-Dimitri Jessen-Lenz made way for
Gavino Medeot. After 72 minutes,
李 (Li) 顺国 (Shunguo) put Grilled ahead 5 - 3 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side.
Lim Shun Jin unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Mammutring certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but
Rüdiger Hatten just wasn't able to finish. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled were awarded a penalty that
John MacKinnon turned into 6 - 3 without a problem. This third goal made a hat trick for
John MacKinnon. Confident in their lead, Grilled decided to play a more defensive game at this point. With 88 minutes played, the Mammutring coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
Alex Feustel came on,
Giuseppe Giusto had to leave the fray. Mammutring was now without a captain, so it was left to
Alex Feustel to take the captain's armband. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 61 percent of possession.
Matthias Branbilla performed admirably for Grilled.
Hang Bao-Tam on the other hand, had a terrible day. Mammutring's best player was
Rüdiger Hatten. However,
Absalom El-Ashraf made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 3.
