Grilled 1 - 4 BBrookies

irly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 59251 to The Cooking Pot. Alain Buret was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Esmar við Skipá and Volkan Ural Okergin. Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Dias Paes - Behr, Lik-Tsun, Árva - Penati, Branbilla, Han Kok, MacKinnon, 达荣 (Darong) - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

BBrookies decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Min How - Kuisma, de Deus, Parada - Illner, Chao Aik, MacNayer, Kumar, Heinze - Andrade, bin Mustaffa.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Grilled. It was obvious that BBrookies were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. The guests almost went up by a goal after 2 minutes when Robert MacNayer came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. There was concern in the stands when, at the 13 minute mark, BBrookies's Carlos Manuel Andrade hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. After 20 minutes, BBrookies put themselves up by 0 - 1, as Yannick Illner finished off a strike from the left with a real cannon placed at the far post. 26 minutes into the match, the speedy Maikel Rotteveel easily outpaced Waldick de Deus to knock in the 1-1 goal. 1 - 2 was the score with 27 minutes played, after BBrookies's Mohd Nafuzi bin Mustaffa cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal. The visitors' Carlos Manuel Andrade took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 29 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for BBrookies. 1 - 3 was the halftime score. BBrookies enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol managed a superb strike from the left after 52 minutes that would have left goalkeeper Hung Min How without a chance, had it not hit the post. Mohd Nafuzi bin Mustaffa really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by Robert MacNayer after a corner. Ciro Penati charged down the left and looked sure to score for Grilled 68 minutes into the game, but his shot went just wide. Grilled's Matthias Branbilla refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 69 minutes. Mohd Nafuzi bin Mustaffa could have put his team up another goal 72 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. A thrilling play through the middle 74 minutes into the match gave BBrookies's Henryk Heinze a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4. At this time in the match, BBrookies were using their skill at pressing to successfully put pressure on their opponents. Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol found himself alone on the left side 77 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! This half belonged to BBrookies, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Valdir Dias Paes. Han Lik-Tsun was a disappointment, however. Most important BBrookies player was Carlos Manuel Andrade. On the other hand, Waldick de Deus's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 4.
