Website Revamp
Grilled commemorated their return to Division Two by commissioning a new website, in place of the old clunker that had been their home on the web for the best part of a decade.
The new website retains almost all previous content, represented in a cleaner way; certain seldom-accessed sections have been removed, and the remaining data integrated more tightly.
The
Headlines now boasts a slideshow of the newest five pieces of important news, as well as a revamped Match Tracker and league table. The calendar and newsbar have been kept from the old site, and a latest comments bar added - yes, readers can now comment on any news item on the site!
The
Squad now shows pertinent statistics on each Grilled player, and is completely sortable by jersey number, name, position, etc. The
Fixtures and
History of any particular season are just one click away, and the season can be selected quickly with a dropdown menu.
More comprehensive
Statistics are available than ever before, with detailed records not only for Grilled, but for opposition teams and players as well.
All items have been transferred from the old
Archives, which is now completely searchable and commentable. The
Store has also been moved, though it is yet to find its first customer.
A new custom
Forum has been added, for Grilled fans, both human and bot, to discuss club happenings. Participation requires registration, which is free and painless, at least until one falls foul of the club's new
Mascot-cum-moderator, the Ham of Doom.
Finally, this upgrade would not have been possible without generous support from the club's main sponsor,
bert's blog.
