Teo To Barra
Up-and-coming young goalie Teo Teck Lee went in the opposite direction as Valdir, as he opted for Brazilian Division Five club Barra Vento FC to be his first professional team. FC Thoeroet (Belgian Division Eight), egemenimspor (Turkish Division Nine), Bradipa FC (Italian Division Eleven), FCL Losice (Polish Division Eight), FC Mühlburg 07 (German Division Nine) all made tenative approaches, but the first plum bid came from a.c. carda of the Italian eighth division, who offered S$100 000.
Not to be outdone, Italian Division Five side Sciaqquazza Futbol Tiim raised it to over S$300 000, and it appeared that Teo would be developing in one of the nations with one of the best goalkeeping legacies. American Division Six club Off In Public stuck their noses in at the last minute, though, but it would be Barra who succeeded with a round S$400 000 fee.
"It's great to be so highly sought after," a visibly proud Teo was quoted as saying. "Thankfully, as a goalie, I won't have to wear the kit of pink and blue though."
