Musa Moves
German Division Eight club TORPEDO GRASDACKEL forked out S$317 000 for Grilled's exceptionally talented young winger, Musa bin Hassan. Musa had strongly considered staying on, but Liehner advised him that outings would be few and far between until the next season, and it would not have made sense for him to waste close to a full season of development.
There was an early local bid from former S-League club Isle of Flames, but the main challenger to TORPEDO for Musa's signature was Danish Division Six side FC Øf, who drove the fee over the S$300 000 mark. Creepin' Death (Bulgarian Division Two), PSV Stadnina (Polish Division Nine), Fantix (Belgian Division Eight), Csara csapata (Hungarian Division Six), fc neerhof (Belgian Division Nine), A.c. Barona (Italian Division Five), NK Barcelona SB (Croatian Division Six), Die Stricher (German Division Ten), Povo d'oro (Italian Division Six), F.C. Vama (Romanian Division Eight) and macabi hen (Israeli Division Six) were the other eleven interested teams.
Musa was not about to let the demand for his skills get to his head, however. "I knew that there wasn't any particular thing I was especially good at, so I worked hard to be able to do most things a winger needs to do at a decent level." The 17 year-old said modestly. "I don't know how far I can go, but this is a very good start."
