The Wong Way

With the first crop of products from Grilled's Chicken Wings youth academy finally maturing, star midfielder Wong Teck Tze blazed a trail for his buddies by landing an attractive contract with Irish Division Four club villa superstars. The S$262 000 move is the largest for a Grilled youngster in some time, with Hibernian Siegen (German Division Six) and Kimber FC (Australian Division Six) also interested in Wong.

Though the promotion of several youth side mainstays have resulted in a couple of defeats for the Chicken Wings in the National Youth League, the future of the U-19 side is looking very bright with the discovery of undoubted talents such as defender Abdul Talib bin Mat Arif and strikers Abdul Jamil bin Ismail and the superb fifteen year-old Hu Banghan in recent weeks. "You will be asking, 'Hu's that?' very soon.", Wong deadpanned.
