Grilled took on experienced American Brad Beckman on a short-term contract in response to their goalkeeping crisis, and as a bonus for the club's female fans he has been described as "quite a looker, a combination of Brad Pitt and David Beckham".

The 36 year-old cost a shade over S$1.7 million from Belgian Division Six team VK WOUTI, over interest from Romanian side THEREALESTATETEAM. Beckman is however still nursing a minor sprain, and Grilled will probably not risk him in the third round of the Singapore Cup against the semi-professional keazoFC.
