Yet another lad from Grilled's ranks has joined a Dutch side, following in the footsteps of such footballers as Zhan Ju-Hau, Huang Shen-Min, Shan Yong-Seng and Mohd Ali bin Othman.
Gai Kam-Pui will hope to savour regular training though, since only Zhan of the above had really made a name for himself, and even then his reputation was built with Grilled in Singapore. The very pacy 17 year-old winger saw a shining future with fast-growing Division Nine side Leekster FC, who have an incredible 11 straight wins as of now.
"I was actually moving to Serangoon Division Four leaders MOJI, but when Leekster signalled their interest there was only one place to go," Gai smiled. "The S$20 000 nominal fee really touched me. I'll strive to do my nation proud."
