Youth star Fan Chuancheng went straight into the senior side in his first week of eligibility, as he celebrated his promotion with a goal against Sun Sunny Youth in his final youth game. Such was his coaches' eagerness that he be ready, that the youngster was pulled from an international friendly against Finnish side Frantic West Pull with just five minutes remaining.

Chuancheng somehow convinced the coaches to risk him against Sun Sunny Youth, but Grilled winger Ciro Penati confirmed that the youngster had already been training with the big boys for several weeks. "He's not very fast, but has a good touch and knows what to do." Penati appraised the newcomer. "Give him time, and he would be a great substitute for me."
