Grilled 2 - 2 Kampung
had rained all day, but 1250 hardy fans still made it out to The Cooking Pot.
Radim Šída was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Héctor Verano and
Casper Danielsen. Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Bao-Tam - Alcántara, Bona, Zywczyn - Abd Hamid, Borup, Paullin, Spirig, Olaru - Hjortlind, Kadak.
Kampung decided to use a 5-3-2 set up. The following players took the field: Čadež - Woo Sung, Michielsen, Schaffers, bin Ismail, Keng Nie - bin Jaafar, Kim, Puckett - Braga, Poh-Chung.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Kampung. A counterattack by Kampung after 11 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
Ricco Braga, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. A questionable penalty 23 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as
Sylweriusz Zywczyn knocked the ball home. With 35 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Jaan Kadak, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Ulf Hjortlind of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Grilled's
Fabian Bona swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
Ricco Braga stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Kampung the goal to make it 2 - 1. Kampung's
Mohd Firdaus bin Ismail got himself booked for a foul. It was 2 - 1 at the break. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 81 percent of the time.
With 47 minutes played,
Bukhari Abd Hamid could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
Shen Poh-Chung seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in the 2-2 goal for Kampung after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
Sylvester Michielsen. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Kampung's
Abd Karim bin Jaafar a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 55 minutes into the game. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 78 percent of possession.
Lorenz Paullin performed admirably for Grilled.
Luis Alcántara was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Kampung player was without a doubt
Ricco Braga.
Gleb Kim turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
