Grilled 4 - 1 M.F.C.

ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 96000 at The Cooking Pot today. Dante de Greef was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Adolfo Forjaz and Ben Petrilla. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. They fielded: Abed-Sulaiman - Zywczyn, Kek-Tjiang, Fredgård - Spirig, Han Kok, Rottman, Paullin, van Liere - Kadak, Martinsson.

M.F.C. had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Novakovic - Sailer, Suurbier, Pak, Gammelgard - Ben Aharon, D'Amato, Lambotte, Maric - Hermansson, Samsee.

M.F.C. clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Making his way up the middle 15 minutes into the match, Dani Spirig almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Nedeljko Novakovic blocked it to keep the score level. Ola Martinsson gave Grilled the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. 27 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Lorenz Paullin dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Grilled. The referee showed Grilled's Sylweriusz Zywczyn the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A great pass from the defensive line of M.F.C. resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by Dino D'Amato in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. With 38 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Ola Martinsson, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. Eran Ben Aharon of M.F.C. received a yellow card after 41 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was 3 - 0 at the break. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.

Grilled's Dani Spirig swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. When Sylweriusz Zywczyn made yet another studs-first tackle after 52 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Grilled player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. Man, what a shot by Grilled's Ola Martinsson! Firing in from 35 yards after 64 minutes, that is probably going to be one of the finest, most beautiful, wonderfully crafted strikes the crowd here today are ever likely to see. 4 - 0. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for Ola Martinsson. The referee showed Grilled's Dani Spirig the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After an industrious effort down the middle, Jon Andrea Rottman could have closed the game off after 77 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. Unsportsmanlike behaviour by Eran Ben Aharon rendered him his second booking of the match, and M.F.C. had to finish the game with a reduced squad. The visitors got one back when Itthipon Samsee finished off a pass from the left and scored after 87 minutes. 4 - 1 was the score. 88 minutes in, Grilled's Jaan Kadak received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 73 percent of possession.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman. However, Shen Kek-Tjiang made a disastrous appearance. Nedeljko Novakovic performed admirably for M.F.C.. However, Per Hermansson made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 1.
