Winning 1 - 2 Grilled

ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 90040 at Winning Eleven Arena today. Massimo Argazzù was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Armin Bormann and Lodewijk Petersen. Winning had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Pinchetti - Kolozsvári, Håkansson, Allen - Sulecki, Silverling, Klintskog, Nederwald - Mouritsen, Avramidis, Hjorting.

Grilled started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Lineup: Harlow - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Bona, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Siu-Yue, Stanton, Kek-Tjiang, Noor Yadah - Martinsson.

Winning clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Grilled immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. With 5 minutes played Bogumil Sulecki almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. After 7 minutes Grilled's Luis Alcántara contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 35 minutes allowed Fabian Bona to score the 0 - 1 goal for Grilled. Winning will have to do without Nikos Avramidis for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 37 minute mark. He was substituted by Patrik Persson. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Winning held the ball, with a clear 54 percent of possession.

Grilled pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Man, what a shot by Grilled's Ola Martinsson! Firing in from 35 yards after 71 minutes, that is probably going to be one of the finest, most beautiful, wonderfully crafted strikes the crowd here today are ever likely to see. 0 - 2. After 79 minutes, Patrik Persson sprinted between the opposing defenders, but the keeper deflected Johan Mouritsen's shot. Winning's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 81 minutes into the match as Hans Hjorting ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Winning, with an impressive 53 percent possession of the ball.

The most dominating Winning player was without a doubt Jan O Silverling. Patrik Persson on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Grilled player was Asher Stanton. Lan Tuan-Mu was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
