Archlight 2 - 3 Grilled
e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 50810 had shown up at Archlight Arena for the match.
Jonathan Perronnet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ronnie Verboom and
Ronnie Hammargård. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Archlight. Lineup: Ibáñez - Sukarin, Crol, Nam Quoc - Salmivalli, Tauz, Barreto, Bleibaum, Paquette - Kong Puay, Aguirre.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Dias Paes - Ãrva, Lik-Tsun, Talib - Penati, MacKinnon, Branbilla, Han Kok, è¾¾è£ (Darong) - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Archlight used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Archlight could have put themselves ahead after 4 minutes but
Cees Crol missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Archlight had a good opportunity to take the lead as
Marko Tauz came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
Valdir Dias Paes. With 21 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
Quah Han Kok put the ball away for 0 - 1. After the ball was lifted in from the left,
Ciro Penati was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 24 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 33 minutes gave Archlight a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and
Manuel Santos Aguirre stepped up to the challenge, netting the 1 - 1 goal. After 37 minutes, Grilled's
Zoltán Ãrva made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. It was 1 - 2 at the break. Archlight held the ball, with a clear 51 percent of possession.
A drive on the left side allowed Grilled's
Subri bin Ku Zainol to get in close and score a goal after 48 minutes, leading to 1 - 3. Archlight's
Ken Paquette was shown a yellow card after 56 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Archlight's
Cees Crol got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 2 - 3. Archlight's
Tan Nam Quoc put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 71 minutes, but the ball went wide. This half belonged to Archlight, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
Archlight's top performer was clearly
Ken Paquette.
Willfried Bleibaum was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was
Valdir Dias Paes. However,
Han Lik-Tsun made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 3.
