Sim™ 1 - 7 Grilled
ather conditions were fairly good for football, and Sim®™ Arena saw a crowd turnout of 69236.
Jonas Beumkes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alessio Cami and
Tino Dahlberg. Sim™ had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Kristensen - Moisio, Ravagnin, Aik Wee - Ping Wen, Précigout, Kjelling, Arcangeli, Lugmeyer - Januszyk, Brito.
Grilled decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. Lineup: Dias Paes - Ãrva, Lik-Tsun, Talib, bin Othman - å·åŸŽ (Chuancheng) , Branbilla, Han Kok, MacKinnon, 剑勇 (Jianyong) - Rotteveel.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Simâ„¢ on this day. Grilled were relying on their ability to counter-attack. 2 minutes into the match, Grilled nearly took the lead, as
胡 (Hu) 剑勇 (Jianyong) broke through on the right.
Christian Kristensen made the save, however. Simâ„¢ mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 3 minutes, but
Franck Précigout was unable to convert from short range. The guests took the lead 13 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
Maikel Rotteveel scoring the 0 - 1 goal. The referee signalled a penalty 15 minutes into the game following an offence just inside of the box.
Maikel Rotteveel knocked home the 0 - 2 goal just outside the reach of the goalkeeper. The visitors'
Zulkiflee bin Othman took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 27 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Grilled. Confident in their lead, Grilled decided to play a more defensive game at this point. Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 28 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender sprang up, clearing the ball on the line. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 79 percent possession of the ball.
Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's
Zulkiflee bin Othman a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 66 minutes into the game. After 70 minutes,
Zoltán Ãrva made a complete fool of himself when he dropped the ball to
Filipe Brito who shuffled it into the goal for Simâ„¢. 1-3. After 71 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Maikel Rotteveel to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 4. At that,
Maikel Rotteveel was noted down for a hat trick. With 72 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 1 - 5 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
Maikel Rotteveel. A thrilling play through the middle 73 minutes into the match gave Grilled's
Quah Han Kok a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 6. After 74 minutes, Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel swiftly ran past
Klaus Moisio to put away the 1-7 goal.
Maikel Rotteveel came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but he lifted the ball over
Christian Kristensen and it was a little too high and hit the bar.
Marco Ravagnin of Simâ„¢ was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Simâ„¢ will have to do without
Christian Kristensen for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 77 minute mark. He was substituted by
Fredrik Edvinsson. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 82 percent of possession.
Simâ„¢'s top performer was clearly
Filipe Brito.
Claudio Arcangeli on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Quah Han Kok.
Zulkiflee bin Othman was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 7.
