Tinombala 3 - 1 Grilled
e 76748 spectators at Gelora Thole2 Tinombala Selawe were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Tiago Martins dos Santos was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Lennard Fronius and
Arthur Dancer. The derby had been the talk of
West all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Tinombala started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: bin Hassan - Hauschel, Tuulik, Chi Tao, Riber - Ahmad, Thien Chye, Ting Sze, MaloÄa - Shang mei, Kaldrup.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - Lik-Tsun, Ãrva, Talib - Penati, Branbilla, MacKinnon, Han Kok, Deme - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Tinombala seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Grilled. Many thought
Huang Chi Tao ought to have been awarded a penalty shot 5 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
Valdir Dias Paes after a determined run through the middle.
Lin Shang mei's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 7 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a snappy through ball to
Nicolaj Kaldrup who knocked it in for Tinombala. 1-0!
Tan Ting Sze had a fantastic opportunity to put Tinombala up another goal 12 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Tinombala added another goal to their lead as
Nicolaj Kaldrup struck home the 2 - 0 goal after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. The home crowd was silenced as
Maikel Rotteveel took a successful penalty shot 38 minutes into the game, reducing the home lead to 2 - 1. With 43 minutes played, Tinombala's
Boris MaloÄa fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Boris MaloÄa for diving. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Tinombala held the ball, with a clear 59 percent of possession.
48 minutes into the game,
Azrul Amri bin Hassan had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
Ng Dong An. A well placed corner kick from
Nicolaj Kaldrup was followed by
Ivan Hauschel's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for Tinombala, the score now 3-1. Grilled's
Sándor Deme was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 60 minutes.
Subri bin Ku Zainol had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper
Ng Dong An just wouldn't surrender. The intense heat forced
Quah Han Kok into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others. This half belonged to Tinombala, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
Tinombala's top performer was clearly
Deng Thien Chye. However,
Ng Dong An made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Valdir Dias Paes.
Sándor Deme turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
