Grilled 2 - 0 Tomoto
was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 28296 that came out to The Cooking Pot.
Caleb Ott was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Krister Tryggvesson and
Homer Bessekri. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players took the field: Dias Paes - Árva, Lik-Tsun, Talib - Penati, Branbilla, MacKinnon, Spirig, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Tomoto had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Arno - Principato, Kousoulakis, Han - bin Ashaari, Rasing, Soliz, Jie Kiong - Fallot, Boixaderas, Galansky.
19 minutes in, the referee awarded Grilled a penalty.
Maikel Rotteveel coolly slotted it home for a 1 - 0 lead.
Quah Han Kok had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 28 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. The referee showed Tomoto's
Zhu Jie Kiong the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 31 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to Tomoto's
Sun Han being carried off the pitch and replaced by
Maurice Rimbeaux.
Zoltán Árva should probably have put his team up another goal after 34 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
Ignazio Arno kept the visitors in the game. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
47 minutes into the game, Grilled were awarded a penalty that
Maikel Rotteveel turned into 2 - 0 without a problem. Tomoto's
Adrián Boixaderas got himself booked for a foul. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
Ursin Fallot found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Tomoto's
Adrián Boixaderas was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 55 minutes.
Markus Kreienredder was given a chance to change things around. After 57 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Ciro Penati might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Ignazio Arno made a spectacular save.
Ciro Penati didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play.
Nawaz Talib could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 63 minutes.
Ivaylo Mirchev was called on to replace Grilled's
Dani Spirig after 72 minutes following a nasty collision. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
Valdir Dias Paes performed admirably for Grilled.
Ivaylo Mirchev on the other hand, had a terrible day. Tomoto's top performer was clearly
Ursin Fallot.
Maurice Rimbeaux was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 0.
