newcastlewoots 0 - 10 Grilled

000 punters turned up at newcastlewoots Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Matti Pölkki was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alexander Pálkovač and Pavlo Vernidub. newcastlewoots started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: Jia Jia - 平方 (Pingfang) , Qiang Jia, 友江 (Youjiang) , Shun Siong - Wan Teck, bin Yakub, 瞬松 (Shunsong) , Seng Hao - bin Ali Hassan, 癸生 (Guisheng) .

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Lineup: Dias Paes - Árva, Lik-Tsun, Talib - Penati, Branbilla, MacKinnon, Spirig, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 22 minutes with a superb strike from the right. A drive on the left side allowed Grilled's Matthias Branbilla to get in close and score a goal after 31 minutes, leading to 0 - 2. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. Quah Han Kok of Grilled was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish 曹 (Cao) 友江 (Youjiang) , which resulted in the 0 - 3 goal. The visitors' Maikel Rotteveel took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 38 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Grilled. With the scoreboard showing that 38 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after John MacKinnon came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. After 39 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Dani Spirig to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5. The referee showed newcastlewoots's Irfan Bakti bin Ali Hassan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Halftime score was 0 - 5. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 90 percent of possession.

The game had been on for 63 minutes when Zoltán Árva broke through on the right, upping the score for Grilled to 0 - 6, much to the home crowd's dismay. With 67 minutes played, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Subri bin Ku Zainol, of Grilled, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The score was then 0 - 7. The home crowd was not impressed when Quah Han Kok came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 73 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 8. With 83 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 9 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Dani Spirig. Grilled's Quah Han Kok received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 86 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 10 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. By then Quah Han Kok was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 93 percent.

Most important newcastlewoots player was Kwek Wan Teck. On the other hand, Gwee Seng Hao's play was disheartening. Maikel Rotteveel performed admirably for Grilled. Ciro Penati turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 10.
