Geostarz 0 - 6 Grilled
ather conditions were fairly good for football, and Charlene's Playground saw a crowd turnout of 46077.
Benjámin Szaniszló was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Amador Leone and
Alojzije Vještica. Geostarz started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: 汉耀 (Hanyao) - Druff, Wichmann, bin Wahab - van der Helst, bin Hashim, Pârvu, Juqueri, Wei Ah - Tze Han, bin Yusoff.
Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Dias Paes - Talib, Lik-Tsun, Ãrva - Penati, Branbilla, Spirig, MacKinnon, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Geostarz immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Grilled. The visiting
Subri bin Ku Zainol was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 4 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Given a free kick at a sharp angle, Grilled went for a variation that loyal fans may recognize from training. A sideways passing move moved the defence out of position and let
Quah Han Kok slip through on goal. No hesitation - and it's 0 - 2, 13 minutes into the game. Geostarz's
Tuan Rosli bin Yusoff got himself booked for a foul. Grilled's
Valdir Dias Paes went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Grilled goal after 22 minutes, making it 0 - 3.
Quah Han Kok was noted down as the scorer. The game had been on for 23 minutes when
John MacKinnon broke through on the right, upping the score for Grilled to 0 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 52 percent possession of the ball.
After 61 minutes, Grilled's
Zoltán Ãrva burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. With 64 minutes having been played, Geostarz's
Tuan Rosli bin Yusoff had to leave the pitch after receiving his second booking. Geostarz's talent at pressing frustrated their opponents. Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 67 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender sprang up, clearing the ball on the line. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Geostarz's
Ahmad Fuad bin Hashim a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 69 minutes into the game.
Nawaz Talib's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Grilled, he bravely continued in the match. The away team's
Maikel Rotteveel took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 75 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 6. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 52 percent possession of the ball.
Most important Geostarz player was
Ahmad Fuad bin Hashim.
Brian Wichmann on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Subri bin Ku Zainol.
Ciro Penati turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 6.
