Rollin' 4 - 3 Grilled
e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 89657 had shown up at Takemikazuchi for the match.
Secondo Romizi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Darius Putter and
Steve Decaux. The derby had been the talk of
West all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Rollin' decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Wei-Ming - bin Ahmad Mokshinon, Parker, bin Udi - Wallner, Iglesia, Min Fu, bin Saleh, Khumalo - Hiekka, Vedeckis.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Dias Paes - Talib, Lik-Tsun, Árva - Penati, Branbilla, Spirig, MacKinnon, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a goal after 2 minutes by
Juho Hiekka for Rollin', putting them ahead 1 - 0. 18 minutes in, Rollin''s
Ahmad Tharmini bin Saleh received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 19 minutes, Grilled's
Ciro Penati swiftly ran past
Chua Min Fu to put away the 1-1 goal. Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel could have put the guests one up after 25 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
Deng Wei-Ming was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. A well placed corner kick from
Robson Khumalo was followed by
Ahmad Tharmini bin Saleh's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for Rollin', the score now 2-1. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 27 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but
Deng Wei-Ming got the best of it, blocking the shot from
Zoltán Árva. After 41 minutes, the visitors evened the score after
Maikel Rotteveel made it through the middle and struck home the 2 - 2 goal. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Rollin''s
Juho Hiekka a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 45 minutes into the game. 2 - 2 was the score after the first half. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Rollin', with an impressive 54 percent possession of the ball.
Grilled's
Dani Spirig skillfully knocked a pass over the top after 59 minutes, and that was received by
Subri bin Ku Zainol who just managed to slot it past the opposing goalkeeper for 2 - 3. With the scoreboard showing that 61 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after
Quah Han Kok came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. In a rapid move 68 minutes into the match,
Juho Hiekka of Rollin' lost his man, passed the ball to the unmarked
Gerdas Vedeckis who easily hit it home for the 3-3 goal. Grilled's
John MacKinnon had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 69 minutes having been played.
Ivaylo Mirchev was the replacement. Rollin' broke through on the left 76 minutes into the game, with
Juho Hiekka firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 4 - 3 lead. This half belonged to Rollin', who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.
Rollin''s top performer was clearly
Deng Wei-Ming.
Franz Wallner turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Matthias Branbilla.
Ivaylo Mirchev was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 3.
