Grilled 0 - 4 Arrogancae
irly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 69706 to The Cooking Pot.
Ronnie Hammargård was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Festus Tanko and
Ivar Toresson. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players took the field: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Spirig, Árva, Talib - Penati, Branbilla, MacKinnon, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Arrogancae started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Nadzakov - Silva Godói, Nidetzky, van Schie - Hansen, Böhme, Kerimov, Ferreira, Horni - Dorrepaal, Valiardo.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Grilled on this day. The visiting
Tinu Horni was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 13 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. After 44 minutes, Arrogancae's
Cornelus van Schie burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. The referee showed Grilled's
Nawaz Talib the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper
Zmejko Nadzakov and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Grilled, but
Maikel Rotteveel's finish was way too lame.
Ciro Penati of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. The corner kick from
Seyit Kerimov set
Roberto Valiardo up perfectly, as he soared to meet the ball, heading it in for 0 - 3. By now, Arrogancae were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. The crowd groaned when
Subri bin Ku Zainol, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for Grilled. 45 minutes in, Arrogancae's
Freerk Dorrepaal received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Given a free kick at a sharp angle, Arrogancae went for a variation that loyal fans may recognize from training. A sideways passing move moved the defence out of position and let
Walter Nidetzky slip through on goal. No hesitation - and it's 0 - 4, 45 minutes into the game. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Arrogancae's
Einar Hansen a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 45 minutes into the game. Unfortunately for Grilled,
Ciro Penati was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
Sándor Deme replaced him. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4. This half belonged to Arrogancae, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
Grilled's
Subri bin Ku Zainol was shown a yellow card after 51 minutes for slicing down an opponent. With 53 minutes played,
Walter Nidetzky nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Good work by Grilled's defensive line produced a couple of good counterattack chances, one of which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
Maikel Rotteveel alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. The defensive line of Grilled created a counterattack through the middle that gave
Matthias Branbilla a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Arrogancae enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
Quah Han Kok performed admirably for Grilled. However,
Dani Spirig made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Arrogancae player was without a doubt
Zmejko Nadzakov.
Tinu Horni was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
