Grilled 3 - 2 seluraralc

scorching day at The Cooking Pot, where 53863 spectators were in place for today's match. Uwe Book was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mika Tuohino and Erwin Nemeth. Grilled had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Árva, Talib - Edmond, Branbilla, Han Kok, Spirig - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

seluraralc decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Sarmiento - Ballner, Jónás, Jiun-Nan - Santamaria, Chambordon, Wan Rong, Mierloo, Chaussepied - Bilger, Blocher.

It seemed as though seluraralc considered the game won before even taking the field, which resulted in a very uninspired start to the game. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Grilled on this day. Grilled took the lead 23 minutes into the game by 1 to 0, as Subri bin Ku Zainol elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. seluraralc's Qiu Jiun-Nan got himself booked for a foul. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 32 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but when Mario Chambordon tried to finish the attack, he couldn't deliver the shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Quah Han Kok after 39 minutes. As Nawaz Talib had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Grilled player a red card without batting an eyelid. Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol was delighted to score the 3 - 0 goal after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing after 44 minutes. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. Halftime score was 3 - 0. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

A good talking to by their coach was all seluraralc needed, and they played a more disciplined game when they returned to the field. seluraralc had a fair chance to reply after 47 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end Sng Wan Rong was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish. Maikel Rotteveel found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. The home team's fans were upset when, after 66 minutes, the visiting Sng Wan Rong broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 3 - 1 was the score. Sylweriusz Zywczyn's curling free kick almost found the goal for Grilled, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it. seluraralc managed to reduce to 3 - 2 as Ruggiero Ballner finished off a well-played combination from the left, carving through the defensive box. seluraralc held the ball, with a clear 58 percent of possession.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Subri bin Ku Zainol. Sylweriusz Zywczyn on the other hand, had a terrible day. Luciano Martín Sarmiento performed admirably for seluraralc. Qiu Jiun-Nan was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
