Haltern 3 - 4 Grilled

ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 5988 at FC Haltern 02 Arena today. Vítor Luciano was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mike Alveren and Václav Kukula. Haltern tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Kohlschein - Torwart, Bernögger, Diem - Cappello, Vanweersch, Å tefančić, Munteanu, Blaseotto - Pulido Quecedo, Topaloglu.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Huel-sheng - Siu-Cheung, Pakpao, Seng-Huat - Kolesov, Siu-Yue, Paullin, Rottman, Fernández Riviera - Hobson, Chiew-Yen.

Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Haltern were very close to putting themselves one up after 7 minutes as Otto Blaseotto got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. Grilled took the lead 19 minutes into the game, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Jon Andrea Rottman was the scorer. Grilled's Antonio Fernández Riviera was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Milen Kolesov managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 2 after 24 minutes. Tim Hobson" alt="Tim Hobson">Tim Hobson increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 3. By now, Grilled were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Haltern's Uzay Topaloglu cut towards the middle after 34 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, putting the 1 - 3 goal away. The referee showed Haltern's Dominik Vanweersch the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 56 percent of possession.

Haltern's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 48 minutes into the match as Uzay Topaloglu ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 2 - 3. The referee showed Grilled's Jon Andrea Rottman the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Miclãus Munteanu pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, after 64 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 3 - 3 equaliser away. Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 66 minutes in when Chen Chiew-Yen came up alone against Jan Kohlschein who managed a block. Grilled took the lead 85 minutes into the game, scoring the 3 - 4 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Chen Chiew-Yen was the scorer. Uzay Topaloglu was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Haltern with a strike from the left, but Cheung Huel-sheng managed to ward the closing shot off to a corner. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 51 percent of possession.

The most dominating Haltern player was without a doubt Uzay Topaloglu. Otto Blaseotto was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was Au-Yong Siu-Yue. Tim Hobson" alt="Tim Hobson">Tim Hobson on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 4.
