Wonders 0 - 6 Grilled
940 spectators arrived at PPP Wonders Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Manuel Frey was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Salvatore Zappalà and
Pedro Jiménez. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Wonders. Lineup: Kong Choon - Muntinga, Jun, bin Yahya - van Solkema, Fraeyman, Prasetyo, Yong Jie, Adelblad - Lisser, López.
Grilled decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Bona - Paullin, MacKinnon, Jie Siong, Han Kok, Spirig - bin Ku Zainol, Rotteveel.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Wonders. Grilled took the lead 6 minutes into the game, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
Quah Han Kok was the scorer. Wonders mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 21 minutes, but
Fred Lisser was unable to convert from short range. 32 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Subri bin Ku Zainol came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but he lifted the ball over
Chan Kong Choon and it was a little too high and hit the bar. Grilled's
Subri bin Ku Zainol got himself booked for a foul. Grilled increased the lead to 0 - 2 as
Sylweriusz Zywczyn scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 62 percent of possession.
After 50 minutes, Grilled's
Sylweriusz Zywczyn burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Grilled. 0-4 was a funny story: after 67 minutes the seemingly nonchalant lob from Grilled's
Dani Spirig landed at the feet of
Maikel Rotteveel who sent it into the net - goal! The visitors added to their lead 69 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Grilled's
Sylweriusz Zywczyn slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 5. That made three goals for
Sylweriusz Zywczyn and he was marked down for the hat trick. A thrilling play through the middle 78 minutes into the match gave Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. 79 minutes in, Wonders's
Rendert van Solkema received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Lin Yong Jie's lack of experience almost gave Grilled a goal after 80 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
Most important Wonders player was
Emiliano López.
Nichlas Adelblad turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Subri bin Ku Zainol. However,
Sylweriusz Zywczyn made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 6.
