Grilled 1 - 1 Rollin'

irly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 96000 to The Cooking Pot. Álvaro Salazar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Zbigniew Głębicki and Theo Wingold. The derby had been the talk of West all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Talib, Lik-Tsun - Spirig, MacKinnon, Paullin, Jie Siong, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

Rollin' decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Wei-Ming - bin Ahmad Mokshinon, bin Fadzim, bin Udi - Sze Wai, de Man, Batista, Min Fu, bin Saleh - Hiekka, Gouveia.

Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Grilled's Han Lik-Tsun tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's Maikel Rotteveel a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 30 minutes into the game. Maikel Rotteveel's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal up the middle after 33 minutes gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. With 37 minutes played, Maikel Rotteveel could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. When Maikel Rotteveel made yet another studs-first tackle after 43 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Grilled player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Rollin' held the ball, with a clear 51 percent of possession.

Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 47 minutes. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 59 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but when Chua Min Fu tried to finish the attack, he couldn't deliver the shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper. 64 minutes in, Rollin''s Chua Min Fu received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, Han Lik-Tsun of Grilled spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Rollin''s João Carlos Batista put the ball in the net after 67 minutes to make it 1 - 1. Rollin' claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

Valdir Dias Paes performed admirably for Grilled. However, Dani Spirig made a disastrous appearance. Deng Wei-Ming performed admirably for Rollin'. Haji Jamal Nasir bin Saleh on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 1.
