Chemistry 1 - 1 Grilled
e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 45964 had shown up at The Acidic City for the match.
Mads Meng was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
André Mourinho and
Jerry Lannerkvist. Chemistry started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Lantos - Dong Tse, Chang Chin, Kai-Xi - Caen-Khim, Niklasson, Kum-Leong, Haafkens - Ladzim, Lie, Železnik.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. They fielded: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Talib, Lik-Tsun, Bona - Han Kok, MacKinnon, Paullin, Jie Siong, Spirig - bin Ku Zainol.
Chemistry seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Chemistry's
Remo Haafkens's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert
Martin Železnik was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to make the score 1 - 0. The visitors'
Lee Jie Siong was alert on a play coming in from the left, tying the score at 1 - 1 after 5 minutes. Some great play up the middle by Chemistry led to a chance for
Eric Niklasson to get the go-ahead goal after 5 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Chemistry's
Zou Kai-Xi was shown a yellow card after 21 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The guests almost went up by a goal after 26 minutes when
Nawaz Talib came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. A counterattack by Chemistry after 27 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
Shahrulnizam Ladzim, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
The crowd groaned its disapproval when
Martin Železnik missed a free kick that would have given Chemistry the lead after 55 minutes. 72 minutes into the match Grilled's
Subri bin Ku Zainol viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. Down the middle came
Han Lik-Tsun, making a fantastic play that nearly had Grilled take the lead after 75 minutes, but
Brúnó Lantos preserved the tie. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.
Chemistry's best player was
Eric Niklasson. On the other hand,
Remo Haafkens's play was disheartening. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Valdir Dias Paes. However,
Fabian Bona made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 1.
