Grilled 8 - 0 Augustiner
e crowd of 4148 turning up at Akre United Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Joice Riyadi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Luís Lins Viana and
Alejandro Budinich. The match took place on neutral ground. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Starters: Beckman - Zywczyn, Bona, Talib - van Liere, Jie Siong, Han Kok, Spirig, Fjällbratt - bin Yaacob, Rotteveel.
Augustiner had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Starters: Eule - Barros, Marcó, Biepiewski - Vasilevskiy, Ruszkiewicz, Bekishev, Po ta - Rücker, Schießwohl, Endys.
Augustiner seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
Maikel Rotteveel, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
Filipe Barros did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 20 minutes,
Tan Po ta broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
Brad Beckman made a great block, though. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob squirmed himself through their central defence after 33 minutes, bringing the lead to 2 - 0.
Sylweriusz Zywczyn was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. Grilled put themselves up 3 - 0 when
Quah Han Kok broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Grilled. Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Halftime score was 3 - 0. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 56 percent possession of the ball.
57 minutes into the match
Sylweriusz Zywczyn put Grilled ahead 4 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. The corner kick from
Sylweriusz Zywczyn set
Peter Fjällbratt up perfectly, as he soared to meet the ball, heading it in for 5 - 0. Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Grilled put themselves up 6 - 0 when
Lee Jie Siong broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. With 84 minutes played, Grilled's
Peter Fjällbratt fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Peter Fjällbratt for diving. After 85 minutes,
Dani Spirig put Grilled ahead 7 - 0 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's
Sylweriusz Zywczyn a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 87 minutes into the game. Grilled's
Hidde van Liere left the field after 88 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
Lorenz Paullin. Grilled's
Peter Fjällbratt was delighted to score the 8 - 0 goal after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing after 89 minutes. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Quah Han Kok. On the other hand,
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob's play was disheartening. Most important Augustiner player was
Tan Po ta.
Manuel Biepiewski was a disappointment, however. The match ends 8 - 0.
