After 35 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Subri bin Ku Zainol to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. With 36 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Maikel Rotteveel. It was 0 - 3 at the break. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

A thrilling play through the middle 62 minutes into the match gave Grilled's Dani Spirig a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. 4rsenaL's Guillermo Suárez-Vértiz was shown a yellow card after 70 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 4rsenaL's Mark Thalhammer got himself booked for a foul. The away team's Maikel Rotteveel took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 74 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 5. Lorenz Paullin was called on to replace Grilled's Han Lik-Tsun after 80 minutes following a nasty collision. With 85 minutes played, Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Subri bin Ku Zainol for diving. Subri bin Ku Zainol could have put his team up another goal 86 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 53 percent possession of the ball.
